Established as an IT service organization of OCE and Doosan Group, Doosan Corporation Information & Communications has a history that runs parallel to how IT has developed in Korea.
In the 1970s, we started out as OCE and began our operation in the incipient stage of IT industry in Korea.
We sold mainframes (digital equipment) and provided the related management services.
We integrated IT divisions of affiliates.
Doosan I&C vigorously expanded its businesses, launching the Interpia and ERP services.
In April 1994, we established Doosan Corporation Information & Communications.
We began Internet search service and under the partnership with JD. Edwards Co., began the ERP project.
We established the current I&C BU as Doosan Group’s BU.
In line with the Group’s growth, we endeavored to secure our capabilities as a total IT service provider and to fulfill the responsibility of leading group’s IT services.
We introduced Six Sigma to innovate information and communication services.
We received 39 IT employees from Doosan HIC.
We received 71 IT employees from Doosan Infracore.
Based on the large-scaled project (ERP and next-generation systems) and global integration projects(DC and emails), we are focusing on bolstering IT service capabilities, to better support Group’s globalization initiatives.
We constructed a data center at Suji Technology Center, thus integrating IT infrastructures of the Seoul and Gyeonggi regions and securing the IT service infrastructure capabilities.
We integrated IT systems worldwide, implemented GSI (Global Single Instance)-based ERP systems and standardized global processes. We thus boosted operational efficiency and drastically reduced costs. In addition, we rolled out global standard processes gradually by 2010. We thus integrated the businesses of CE, industrial vehicle, machine tool, engine, domestic and Chinese businesses, implemented global operation systems and secured the global-tier operational infrastructures of Doosan Infracore.
We successfully rolled out the DooDream 4.0 system to all affiliates worldwide. DooDream was designed to provide the Single Point of Entry for the necessary information and application systems within Doosan group
We provided the IT infrastructure cloud service, which enhanced infrastructure investment efficiency and created the Group’s synergies.
We established Doosan Information & Communications America (DISA) on July 1, 2011, thus laying the foundations to take a leap forward as a global IT service company and to begin full-fledged overseas services.
We established Doosan Information & Communications China (DSIC) in Beijing on December 1, 2011, enabling us to provide better professional IT services to Chinese affiliates.
We re-implemented Doosan Corp. ERP systems, thus advancing finance/management systems and applying advanced work processes in boosting business capabilities. We rolled out ERP systems to Doosan Corporation Electro-Materials’ four overseas subsidiaries, as well as DSIC, achieving global process standardization.
We rolled out and expanded the smart working environment VDI, thus helping Doosan companies organize information assets, bolstering information security and boosting work efficiency.
Integrated global helpdesk to support all IT services 24*7 has been put in place, improving the expertise of supporting affiliates and global IT service level.
Group messenger was implemented throughout the group in Dec. 2013. The addition of group messenger to the existing communications tools such as phones and emails has improved the flexibility in communications methods. Video conferencing has been facilitated further and has added online face-to-face meeting/reporting capacity, addressing the inefficiency in communications and collaboration.
