    As a total IT service provider, we strive to continue our efforts in securing fundamental competitiveness that will lead to growth at Doosan by providing an advanced IT service.

    1. Implementing Global IT Systems to Support the Key Businesses

    We implemented ERP systems to DI ME, construction and engine BUs, DST and Doosan Corp., carried out the project of integrating DICE global ERP systems (Everest) and expanded DSPI ERP systems. As such, we serve as Doosan Group’s IT service provider with an owner’s mindset and responsibility. To support customers’ key process innovations, we will expand into SCM, PLM and MES based on these ERP systems.

    Successful implementation of global best systems for group’s core businesses

    We implemented DICC MES to upgrade Infracore’s manufacturing capabilities and gathered mass manufacturing data and production information, laying the groundwork for production quality innovation. To integrate the quality management of Infracore’s Chinese production subsidiaries, we constructed a DICC integrated call center, a DCS (Dealer Collaboration System) and an integrated quality management system.

    We established Doosan Information & Communications America (DISA) on July 1, 2011, thus laying groundwork to take a leap forward as a global IT service company and beginning full overseas services.

    3. Integrating Global IT Services and Commencing the Cloud Service

    We migrated DICE’s AD, e-mail and Lync services from MS outsourcing into the Group’s consolidated environment, thereby establishing the One Doosan environment. This has improved DICE system performance by 30% and has reduced its IT costs by 800,000 USD a year

    For group’s integrated IT supply management, we took over the Group affiliates’ IT assets in March 2011 and launched the cloud service with pay-per-usage mechanism. This has increased the efficiency of infrastructure asset operation, thus preventing excessive and duplicated investments while enhancing cash flow and business performance.

    In order to build up consulting competencies, i.e., core competitiveness for PI/IT initiatives, we formed and have leveraged an alliance with a global consulting firm.

    We have operated the PI/IT Academy since August 2011 in an effort to enhance the understanding of key customer industries and to strengthen capabilities to better support customers. In 2012, we reorganized the SAP ERP professional course into the ERP expert course and the PI course, in which about 70% of operating members participated. After completing the course, 31 participants applied for and earned SAP consultant license, thus increasing the percentage of SAP license holders to 76% of the total ERP support staff.

    Global Academy and STEPS.

    We run Global Academy programs to enhance our employees’ global communication capabilities, gearing them up for global service environment. Thus far, there have been 6 rounds of Global Academy courses where 9 employees have participated for each course, improving their communication skills. To enhance expertise and professionalism of employees, we have fostered 16 STEPS faculty members and seven STEPS junior faculty members. In August 2012, 23 employees completed the I&C STEPS course.

    We opened the Doosan Way Portal, thus constructing the Group’s open communication channel and contributing to the successful establishment of the Doosan Way within the Group.

    As part of the first step toward a smart working environment, in March 2012 we executed the change management campaign of ‘Paperless Office’ for Holding Company. We thus reduced not only the unnecessary paperwork, but also time and effort on the repetitive and unproductive work.

    We’ve used VDI for smart working environment, specifically three objectives of managing corporate information assets more efficiently, bolstering information security and enhancing operation efficiency. We adopted the Group’s integrated communication tool, Lync, thus improving mobile messenger and video conferencing systems. We introduced Round Table or Soft Phone systems, thus linking online/offline meetings and contributing to efficiency and productivity enhancement.
